About Bethel

Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in 1899 and has been an active part of the south Minneapolis community for over 100 years. Bethel, meaning House of God, truly does have a precious and illustrative history – joys, pleasures, struggles, heartaches; but blessed with pastors who have diligently taught and proclaimed the Word of God and a congregation always dedicated to God’s service.

We believe that God welcomes all people into relationship regardless of age, race, economic situation, or sexual orientation and we welcome all people to be a part of our community. Our mission is to connect people to God, each other, and their mission in the world.
