Worship with Communion
Sunday worship services at Bethel begin at 10:30 a.m. most of the year, and at 10:00 a.m. during the summer from the Sunday after Graduation Recognition through Labor Day weekend. Each service includes both Word and Sacrament, a sermon based on one of the Scriptures appointed for the day plus a celebration of the Holy Communion. All baptized Christian people who desire to receive the blessings of Christ’s body and blood in this sacramental meal of bread and wine are invited to the Lord’s Table.
Our services are a variety of different music settings and liturgy. Some that we are currently using are: Evangelical Lutheran Worship book liturgy setting four, Dancing at the Harvest book by Ray Makeever, Now The Feast liturgy by Marty Haugen, supported by music from Bethel’s 43-rank Schlicker pipe organ and piano and occasionally special instruments.
Occasionally on a fifth Sunday a blended service includes special prayers and blessings for healing, whether from sickness or broken relationships or personal distresses.
Special services are scheduled at Christmas time and during Lent and Holy Week.
Parents may entrust their babies and children under age 5 to Bethel’s toddler room during worship services.
