Bethel Lutheran Church is searching for an
Office and Grant Manager (18 hours per week)
Bethel Lutheran Church is searching for the right candidate to fill a part-time Office and Grant Manager position. The Manager needs to be available to support the mission and vision of this congregation. Communication skills are vitally important to this position; excellent verbal, written, and listening skills are essential. Ability and willingness to work with a team is a must.
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday, 9am-2pm. (15 hours at front desk, 3 flexible hours per week)
Office Manager details:
Weekly

Count weekly offerings on Tuesday mornings
-
Input information in Google Sheets and church management system, currently SimpleChurch
-
Take money to the bank
-
-
Maintain billing and paid files
-
Prepare birthday cards on a timely basis and send them out accordingly
-
Maintain contents of two Little Free Libraries and make sure they look good
-
Manage the Little Free Pantry by working with volunteers, visitors, vendors, and contributors

Assist with monthly newsletters, weekly bulletin, and daily task lists as needed
Bi-monthly

Check and submit timecards to appropriate personnel
Occasionally

Create, print, and send out quarterly reports for donations

Maintain communications with our tenants and organizations who use our building

Maintain files: births, deaths, membership, transfers, weddings, baptisms, attendance, etc. Indicated above

Keep and organize copies of bulletins, newsletters, and meeting minutes
Grant Manager details:

Manage current grants, reports, and spending
-
Work with members and neighbors to apply for Thrivent Action Teams - we apply for at least 30 of these annually

Research grant possibilities as they come up and are suggested

Create a rough draft of the parameters of for a grant, be our point person, and apply for grants (or work with occasional grant writer)

Attends weekly staff meetings to understand the context and breadth of mission and vision at Bethel and to build relationships and trust with other staff members

Complete safety checks, lock, and turn off heat/ac, make rounds of the building if you are the last Bethel staff in the building

Assist the Operations Manager and Pastor as needed

Be trained, willing, and able to cover for Operations Manager when they are out of the office

Perform other duties as assigned and any work as necessary to create an orderly flow of church business
